How Lovely it is to be out of the Mercury Retrograde and into the wave of 2016!
I’m moving full speed ahead with a few projects that I am extremely excited about:
- 2155: An Exploration of Afrofuturism in Performance Art at Gay City, Feb. 11 – 14th and Feb 18 – 21st. This show is a mash up of poetry, burlesque, music, and dance all focusing on the idea of projecting the African American aesthetic into the future. It is going to be full of hard truths and beautiful complexities! Get your tickets here!
- Dear White People at Theater Off Jackson, Feb. 5th and 6th. I am so excited to be working with a great friend and colleague on this show. We will be addressing issues of race through performance art and leaving it all on the stage. We hope that this show will inspire further inquiry into the tension between white privilege and brownness. What more can art do, but inspire change? Get your tickets here!
There are a few more exciting opportunities, but I’ll tell you all about those soon! Welcome to 2016 my loves!
